To bootstrap, i used a GCC-10.5 built using Apple gcc-4.2.1 and all the tools
are stock Xcode-3.1.4 (so: as, ld, ar, libtool, dsymutil etc).

(I am sure that newer tools could have some advantages - but they are not
needed to make things work)...

It's always best to change one thing at a time with something as incredibly
complex as a toolchain.
