Damn.  My bad.  I didn't even look around for other instances and there's
several.

So I installed my dummy assembler & linker that always return success and ran
the gcc testsuite after fixing the rest to validate no other checking things
would trip on amdgcn in ext-dce.  Just waiting for the standard bootstrap and
regression cycle to complete before submitting upstream.

Thanks again for reporting and reopening this issue.  Sorry for the slow/uneven
response.
