here is the output from trunk at 271111

For some reason the plugin isn't getting the "-Wl,-debug" flag, so I hacked it
to save the intermediates - that's a separate issue (and I should add
-save-temps there too) - it does work for the collect2 case.

Actually, a quick scan of the files, they seem sensible - but nm still barfs on
the linked output.
