Yes I had spotted this part of gcov.exp, but saw nothing in the logs.

As I put in the title, it happens randomly, and this is automated testing.

And it seems there is no way increasing verbosity will print helpful debug info
in  this area.

I hoped someone more knowledgeable would have an idea of what could cause such
an error :)


It could be that the process was killed for some reason, but there is no such
clue in the logs. Maybe HJ Lu has some info since I noticed similar errors in
his reports.
