Many thanks Florian - my Google Fu failed me!

I've tested your patch from
https://sourceware.org/ml/libc-alpha/2018-06/msg00673.html with glibc-2.27, and
have now successfully built gcc-8.1 with 4.18-rc1 for x86_64 (and also for arm,
which built without the patch, and continues to build with the patch).

I guess this can be closed now that this is likely to be fixed in glibc. Thanks
