I've reproduced it on every version from 4.8 onward.
My configuration for my arm-none-linux-gnueabi compiler are:
--with-arch=armv7-a --with-fpu=vfpv3-d16 --with-float=softfp
--with-arch=armv7-a
Compiling with -mfloat-abi=softfp -mthumb -march=armv5t -O2 ICEs
