Is this still a problem with any currently supported version of GCC?

Since there's been no update on this in almost 5 years and no other reports of
the same problem (AFAICS) I'm lowering Severity to Normal.  If the problem
persists and you feel like it meets the definition of Critical Severity
(https://gcc.gnu.org/bugs/management.html) please feel to bump it up.
