Proposed patch to fix the ICE

After far too many hours in the depths of gdb, there appeared to be one
malicious statement in the code. This patch should fix it.

Regression tested for GNU Fortran (GCC) 7.0.1 20170314 (experimental) on
x86_64-pc-linux-gnu with no regressions.
