Thank you for your messages.

I called the 'file' command on a .so and an executable, they both show the same
kind of information. I understand that a program like the file explorer can get
confused.

As everything is normal on the gcc side then, I will look in the direction of
the file explorer, with the hope to learn more about the problem.
