The following test case:

int a, b, d;
short *const c = (short *)&b;

void e(void)
{
        d = 3;

        for (; d < 100; d++) {
                a = 0;
                for (; a != 30; a = a + 5)
                        *c |= 4;
        }
}

when built with:

gcc -O3 -mcpu=power9 testcase.c

fails with:
