Above, you pasted a call of xgcc.  Add -v -save-temps to that command and
execute it from the right directory.  Usually make prints the directory where
it stops execution due to some tool error; this will be some libgcc multilib
directory.  The -save-temps gives you a preprocessed input file fixed-bit.i
(provided it's not the preprocessor that hangs).
