I also believe it was introduced after 5.3.0 was released.  The testcase
generates correct
result with Debian 4.9.3-11 and my latest trunk build.  ffmpeg builds
successfully on hppa
with Debian 5.3.1-8 if I add the '-fno-expensive-optimizations'.
