Not sure either.

The code compiles and gives the "expected" result at run time if the line

   USE :: deriv_m, ONLY: deriv_t, OPERATOR(.LE.)

is replaced with

   USE :: deriv_m, ONLY: deriv_t, operator(<=)

I don't understand the above sentences.

I had a look, but did not find anything related to USE...ONLY (I did not look
too hard!-).
