The patch looks good (even for my limited understanding of the code). I have
run the fortran test suite with
check-gfortran
RUNTESTFLAGS="--target_board=unix'{-m32,-m64,-m32/-fsanitize=address,-m64/-fsanitize=address}'"
The io_real_boz* problem is fixed without new regression. I have also
"sanitized" the NIST test suite which runs without error for both -m32 and
-m64.
