Bug ID: 63678
Summary: __mm256_blend_epi16 only accepts 8-bit masks (should
accept 16-bit)
Product: gcc
Version: unknown
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P3
Component: c
Assignee: unassigned at gcc dot gnu.org

.i file for repro.
__mm256_blend_epi16 only accepts 8-bit masks as the 3rd parameter, not 16. The
Intel and Microsoft compilers handle this properly.
$ gcc -c -mavx2 -save-temps foo.c
foo.c: In function ‘blend’:
foo.c:4:46: error: the last argument must be an 8-bit immediate
return _mm256_blend_epi16(a, b, 0xabcd);
^
where foo.c is
#include <immintrin.h>
__m256i blend(__m256i a, __m256i b) {
return _mm256_blend_epi16(a, b, 0xabcd);
}
$ gcc -v
Using built-in specs.
