We have a large C++ application that was working with LTO in google/gcc-4_6,
and now we're running into issues on google/gcc-4_7. We saw performance gains
and binary size decreases with LTO that were extremely useful. Understandably,
we're concerned about using LTO as all with the newer toolchain if
bootstrap-lto doesn't work.

Are there other patches from trunk not yet backported into the 4_7 branch that
make merging the other LTO fixes difficult? Anything you can do to restore the
functionality that worked in previous google branches is greatly appreciated.

Thanks!
