Triage notes: As the issue is that no diagnostic is produced I was uncertain
how to locate duplicates -- I tried a few search queries and came up empty.

Also note that both source files are needed to reproduce the error, it cannot
be reproduced (to my knowledge) with a single source file.  The error *happens*
at link time, but I'm uncertain what part in the tool chain is truly
responsible for it.
