That's not the problem.

The problem is the atomic functions are not being typed correctly:

/usr/ccs/bin/ld: Unsatisfied symbols:
    __atomic_compare_exchange (first referenced in /var/tmp//cc8Tx8dY.o) 
(data)

The linker is looking for a data symbol.
