Status: I have managed to eliminate the OUTPUT_FLOAT_G macro completely and all
floating point operations.  What remains is to adjust the trailing blanks.  The
patch is simple looking once you get there, though a bit subtle to sort out
initially, especially when I get only 20 or 30 minute intervals to work on this
every two or three days.  ;)
