This problem no longer exists at r174648 with
http://gcc.gnu.org/ml/gcc-patches/2011-05/msg02301.html installed. A
profiledbootstrap BOOT_CFLAGS="-g -O3" CFLAGS_FOR_TARGET="-g -O3"
CXXFLAGS_FOR_TARGET="-g -O3" using --enable-build-with-cxx succeeds on x86_64
darwin.
