There is insufficient information here.  Do you
have libgfortran.a for the version of gfortran 
that you are trying to use?  Is libgfortran.a
installed in the location where gfortran was
configured to look for it?  I just tried the
option with 4.3, 4.4, 4.5, 4.6, and trunk 
versions of the compiler.
