[Bug driver/44049] Empty dependencies left may cause invalid builds

For those reading on, this can be worked-around by adding
.DELETE_ON_ERROR: <my dependencies>
in the makefile.
I find it ugly, but it works...
(but does not mean that gcc leaving corrupted files around is not a bug ;-)
