firstly, backing out of all mods to dwarf2out.c after 151814 both allows the
bootstrap to complete and checking the log files shows no dsymutil fails 

powerpc-apple-darwin8, i686-apple-darwin9

[this might not be quite enough; backing out of only 151814->151815 for trunk
version 151904 produced a working bootstrap but with still some dsymutil
fails].

we should add a -gstrict-dwarf[23] switch
> that darwin can use by default instead.

Please can we do this; even if there is a fix applied to darwin10/9 dsymutil we
are unlikely to see a fix applicable to darwin8 since active development is now
on darwin10.
