should be:

   0:   48 c7 c0 80 ff ff ff    mov    $0xffffffffffffff80,%rax
   7:   6a 80                   pushq  $0xffffffffffffff80
   9:   58                      pop    %rax

7 vs. 3 bytes.

have to get that signed vs. zero-extension correct.
