yes, that is correct, i.e. with the 4.4 branch the 

gfortran -fgraphite -c -O2 -ffast-math -funroll-loops -ftree-vectorize
-march=native -ftime-report tmp.f90

command (thus including -fgraphite) takes about 4s seconds, while the same
command line takes about 371s with 4.5.

as explained by Sebastian in PR40965, this might be due to the fact that
graphite recognizes now more loop constructs.
