I'm completely lost with your example. You are talking about "parent component
name", but you have:

  type x_t

which has no parent component.

Id had one if you used "type, extends(base_t) :: x_t". Then you could use:
  call this%base_t%init (text)
or
  call base_init (this%base_t, text)

However, even in this case it won't work as you are overriding "procedure init"
which is not allowed for the arguments you have passed.
