This doesn't fail for me when compiling preprocessed file with (please note
-m32 compile flag on 64bit host):

~/gcc-build-fast/gcc/cc1 -m32 -march=pentium -mno-tls-direct-seg-refs pr36092.i
-std=gnu99 -fgnu89-inline -O2 -Wall -Winline -Wwrite-strings
-fmerge-all-constants -quiet -Wstrict-prototypes

where

~/gcc-build-fast/gcc/cc1 --version
GNU C (GCC) version 4.4.0 20080502 (experimental) [trunk revision 134885]
(x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu)

configured with:

--enable-checking=all

Can you try latest SVN version of 4.4 branch?
