Here's another try. We collect the libgcc.a objects in multiple variables (18
of them) so that we can invoke $(AR) multiple times. Hopefully, this will
result in individual command lines that meet IRIX's limits. What is your
systune'd command line limit, anyway?
If needed, we can apply this technique to other libraries too.
