On hppa, using either of the following gcc's (Debian sid and Ubuntu feisty):
gcc version 4.1.3 20070429 (prerelease) (Debian 4.1.2-6)
gcc version 4.1.2 (Ubuntu 4.1.2-0ubuntu4hppa1)
results in the following:
% cat xx.c; gcc -pie -fPIC -fPIE xx.c && ./a.out
int main(int n,const**p) { ; return 0; }
Segmentation fault
gcc version 4.1.2 20061115 seems ok
