The testcase is cross-platform (at least as far as this PR and PR33158 are
concerned).

Of the four VDEFs, only the ones for SMT.8 and ARCHnodes seem correct to me. 
The "int" assignment should not cause aliasing for either the nodekind global
(an "int *") or nodekindf (a "float *").
