$ cat >t.c
int foo(int x;) { }
$ gcc-3.4 -c t.c
t.c:1: error: parameter "x" has just a forward declaration
$ gcc-4.0 -c t.c
$ echo $?
0
$ gcc-4.1 -c t.c
$ echo $?
0
