Yes, I am able to compile the code with that version:

$ ~/gcc/bin/g++ --version
g++ (GCC) 4.2.0 20051129 (experimental)

$ ~/gcc/bin/g++ -o lamtest *.ii -L/sw/lib -llammpio -llammpi++ -lmpi -llam
