I attached a patch containing Paolo's suggestions.
It was produced with svn diff -x -up after an svn copy like this:

pedro@localhost gcc] svn copy libstdc++-v3/config/os/solaris/solaris2.{7,8}

"svn diff" doesn't contain this copy directly.
