I think this is invalid code though.  An example for PPC:
void bug(char* dst)
{
        register char* _dst __asm ("r6");
        __asm__ ("%0":"=g"(*_dst): :"r4","r5","r6");
}

Note you saying that you clobered r6 but pass something which is in the memory address in r6.
