Well, here's an even shorter testcase:

=======================================
template <int> struct A {};
# line 524288
void foo() { A<0> a; }
=======================================

In the original example it's not the preprocessing that bit us
(like Andrew suggested in comment #5).
The line numbers were really that high.

It's amazing however, that the bug in the preprocessor Andrew
mentioned never causes this kind of trouble.
