[Bug fortran/15953] ICE with segmentation fault on valid code

This is interesting but I cannot reproduce it on 20040610 and there was no change to gfortran between 
then and 20040611.

But I do get an error message though:
  In file pr15963.f:16

      end function number_of_digits
        1
Error: Expecting END PROGRAM statement at (1)
Error: Unexpected end of file in 'pr15963.f'
which is wrong.
