The original test case has apparently been fixed, perhaps by my followup patch
to solve the amd64 problems.

The test case that Serge came up with is completely unrelated.  It should probably
be given it's own PR, and passed to one of the folk that have been working on 
copyprop -- law or zdenek or amacleod.
