Given the analysis posted, this really looks like a potential bug on all
platforms, and not specific to Ada at all. Clearly, there's some
bad interaction with constant strings in the code, which seems directly
(and not as a side effect) related to the identified patch.

Recategorizing accordingly.

My recommendation would be to revert the patch until this regression is
understood.
