$ cat cshift-char.f90
character(len=1), dimension(5) :: c
c = (/'h', 'e', 'l', 'l', 'o'/)
print *,cshift(c,3)
end
$ gfortran cshift-char.f90
cshift-char.f90: In function 'MAIN__':
cshift-char.f90:3: internal compiler error: in gfc_conv_string_parameter, at
