Actually I found out a couple of days ago this just means you it cannot find the library and not a
configure failure.
For the orginal reporter, do you have a full glibc and the 32bit glibc if you don't then you have to
disable the multilib (aka --disable-multilib).
For all the rest of the reports are you sure that you have the libraries installed?
