Building with -v I see:

darwin7.2.0/3.5-tree-ssa/cc1plus -E -quiet -v -I../../FastMath -I../flame-1.0 -D__DYNAMIC__
-D__APPLE_CC__=1 -DNDEBUG -include ../OmniFlame_Prefix.h iterator_10.cpp -o /tmp/
iterator_10.cpp -mdynamic-no-pic -maltivec -Winline -Wall -Wstrict-aliasing -finline-functions
-finline-limit=1000000000 -falign-loops=16 -fstrict-aliasing -fno-exceptions -fworking-
directory -O3 -dD

But I would really only expect __APPLE_CC__ to be defined for an *Apple* built compiler. In fact,
this is what I'm using to determine whether I need to include the FSF GCC <altivec.h> (Apple's GCC
doesn't need one of these).
