Which GCC Version on SPARC/SOLARIS 8 is OK ?

Hi,

I am trying to install a software on a sparc/solaris 8
machine and I have to compile the source with GCC.
I am wondering which version of GCC, I should install.
I have tried to install gcc 3.0.3 but I got a problem
when compiling a source with a <stdio.h> include.
So I went to sunfreeware web site, and I downloaded
GCC 2.95.3. I installed it. Now I have a problem when
trying to compile a source with a <iostream.h> include
(it looks like there is an issue with a sys/cdefs.h
not existing because of a problemin the _G_config.h
file)...
Do you know what should I do ? Is there a patch to
apply ?
I haven't found anything in the bugzilla database.
