It works for me on powerpc-apple-darwin:
[zhivago2:~/src/gccPRs] apinski% gcj -v
rename spec lib to liborig
Configured with: /Volumes/UFS_Partition/pinskia/src/fsf/gcc-clean/src/configure --
disable-nls --disable-multilib --disable-checking --enable-languages=c++,f77,objc,java --
enable-intermodule --prefix=/Volumes/zhivago/Users/pinskia/fsf-clean-nocheck
