OK. I'll contact SGI.
I'd use gcc as the bootstrap compiler, but
there is a chicken and the egg problem. The target system has include files
for each versions of the SGI compiler stored in directories like:
/opt/MIPSpro/74/include rather than /usr/include.
The system I have gcc compiled on has the include
files in the /usr/include. (math.h, stdio.h, etc.)
I've copied over the compiled version of gcc to the target
system, but it can't find various include files. If I use
CC="gcc -I/opt/MIPSpro/74/include" I get all kinds of errors since
I think some compiler constants aren't being set. What is the best way
to deal with this situation in the short term? (Both systems
have SGI's 7.4 compiler installed by the way.)
Thanks,
Rob
