[Bug other/13126] New: gccbug presents incorrect ident data

	The RCS command ident, when run on gccbug, gives multiple
	erroneous responses.  Prior communication (late 1980s) with
	FSF and Walter Tichy indicates that this is a feature of
	ident, not a bug.  Similar problems occur with CVS.

How-To-Repeat:
	When running ident against gccbug, you get the following bogus
	results:
     $COMMAND: Please fix the MAIL_AGENT entry in the $
     $COMMAND: cannot read $
     $COMMAND: Aborting ..."; $

Fix:
	This bogus response is fairly common when running ident against
	perl programs.  Fortunately there is a simple workaround, which
	is to enclose variable name portions of the offending line in
	curly brackets, eg,
     ${COMMAND}: Please fix the MAIL_AGENT entry in the $
	This bit of syntactic sugar, while not strictly necessary,
	does prevent the line from appearing to ident as an RCS/CVS
	marker and does not complicate the perl script.  The changes
	to gccbug to fix this were trivial.  The following is a sharfile
	with the original file (gccbug-orig), the modified file
	(gccbug-new), and a patch file for them.
