Hello,

there are a fair number of PRs about builds failing due to people 
configuring with srcdir==objdir. I'm wondering 1) if we fully support 
this (we didn't for a long time, <3.1 IIRC) and 2) should we keep all 
the separate bug reports open, or consolidate them? Thanks,
