Here's the test code:

class Foo
{
public:
  Foo();
  virtual ~Foo();
  operator const char*() const;

  char& operator[](unsigned i);
  char operator[](unsigned i) const;
};

void func()
{
  Foo s;
  char c = s[0];
}
