Well, I did inquire on comp.lang.fortran and g77's behaviour is
conformant with the standard.
I do, however, concur that it would be useful to accept this
non-standard code.
g95 will do that by virtue of the fact that it does type resolution
only *after* all of the source has been processed.
I do not plan to fix this for g77 as it is an extension and
g77 is in maintenance mode.
