Hello,

with gcc 3.1, 3.2.3, 3.3 branch and mainline for ia64-hpux, and the latest binutils, I cannot 
reproduce the problem you report, either with -mlp64 or -milp32. Would it be possible for you to 
check whether this problem still occurs with a current version of gcc (ie 3.3)? Also, you don't 
describe what operating system/assembler version you're using. If you can send those, that'd be 
quite helpful. Thanks,
