I never said any code has to be open sourced, as I have code which is not open source.
But since you do not want an ISO C compiler which can do this transformation any where (as long 
as the size is greater than 1 byte, use something other than an ISO C compiler.
GCC tries to be an ISO C compiler, if you do not like that use something other than GCC.
